DEUTZ Returns to AFAC26

It’s one of the world’s premiere events for first responders, leaders in the defence and security fields, experts in industrial safety and those involved in rebuilding communities and safeguarding essential services as part of the disaster recovery process.

The annual AFAC Conference and Exhibition also attracts people in the mining, gas and petroleum industries looking for the latest solutions to mitigate risks and improve their response when managing an emergency situation.

This year, DEUTZ Australia returned to exhibit at the event to strengthen the business’s connections with the emergency response community.

“DEUTZ has supported the emergency response industry for many years and our engines are an important component of various emergency response and critical response equipment, including water pumps for firetrucks,” says Craig Chamberlin, DEUTZ Australia Managing Director.

“For example, we’ve been working with the CFS for several years, supplying our engines for their Whispa kits which are fitted to fire trucks used by the South Australian Country Fire Service.

“More recently, we supplied our first batch of engines to GAAM Emergency Products – another major supplier of fire solutions that has contracts to supply equipment to other state fire authorities.

“Through these partnerships, DEUTZ Australia supports the emergency management sector by providing reliable engine solutions for critical firefighting and emergency response applications.”

DEUTZ Australia showcased existing engine platforms as well as a range of NewTech products that form part of DEUTZ’s evolving portfolio.

DEUTZ’s proven F3L2011W and BF4L2011W engines from the classic range, trusted for their quiet operation, compact design, reliability and cost-effective performance were on display. Their lightweight construction and ease of maintenance make them an ideal choice for fire pump applications.

“Our Global Marketing team also developed an interactive digital model of our hybrid engine for visitors to explore at our stand,” says Craig.

Senior Manager, Business Development Asia-Pacific, BU NewTech, Prateek Jain, also travelled from DEUTZ India to promote the full NewTech product portfolio – which is focused on electric drives and battery storage systems – and to answer customer questions.

“Emergency response organisations operate in demanding environments where reliability, performance and readiness are critical. At the same time, the industry is looking ahead to new technologies and is considering how lower-emission and alternative power solutions can be incorporated into future fleets and equipment,” says Darren Galley, DEUTZ Australia Sales and Marketing Manager.

“As the industry considers how new technologies can be introduced without compromising these requirements, AFAC26 provided an ideal platform for us to demonstrate the breadth of solutions that DEUTZ Australia can offer today.

“It was also an opportunity to start conversations about the technologies that could support the next generation of emergency response equipment, and to listen to industry stakeholders, understand the challenges they are facing and explore where DEUTZ Australia can provide genuine value.”
