EIP Diesel sets the pace in Sydney’s west

It’s all about the engines at EIP Diesel, whose staff have a combined 100 years’ service in the diesel engine and generator industry.

Managing Director Alister Lawrence took over the business in 2004 with 50 per cent shareholder Douglas St George. It now has six staff, an apprentice and a reputation as one of the premier diesel specialists in Sydney’s western suburbs.

Minchinbury-based EIP Diesel was established in 1985 by Ernie, Ian and Phillip, whose initials spelled EIP. Their goal was to be DEUTZ Australia’s premier New South Wales Dealer.

The business works on a range of engines and has been a DEUTZ dealer since Day 1. “We are also an OEM and have several long-term military contracts,” Alister says.

“DEUTZ is an invaluable supplier to us. We work hand in glove on a daily basis with sales, parts and technical staff at DEUTZ to satisfy our customer needs.

“We supply the entire range from Air Cooled 912 and 914 series engines Air Oil Cooled 2011 series of engines all the way to Liquid Cooled 1013 & 1015 series of engines.”

Asked what he likes about DEUTZ engines, Alister has two words: “German engineering – which is a universally accepted byword for quality. Of all the products we distribute DEUTZ is easily the pre-eminent engine.”

Alister says no other manufacturer offers him factory remanufactured engines built to the exact specs as customers’ original engines. Some are more than 40 years old.

“And these engines carry exactly the same warranty as a new DEUTZ engine,” Alister says. “None of our other suppliers even come close in this regard.”

Alister says EIP Diesel clients are universally happy with DEUTZ and its staff “could not be better” to deal with. He works with Simon Reynolds, Dylan McCabe, Shane Moretto, Dave Howes and Craig Chamberlin.

“All are exemplary in their dealings with us and an invaluable asset to our business,” Alister says.
