James Maddison – Warranty Support

James began his career with DEUTZ UK at the age of eighteen, joining the company after completing his apprenticeship. Over the past eleven years, he has progressed into one of DEUTZ UK’s experienced Field Service Technicians, working across the full range of DEUTZ and Daimler engine series.
His role in the UK included onsite technical troubleshooting, warranty repairs, servicing, commissioning, and the many other responsibilities that come with supporting customers in the field. This hands-on experience has provided James with extensive product knowledge and a strong understanding of customer requirements.
After more than a decade with DEUTZ UK, James has taken the opportunity to further develop his career by joining DEUTZ Australia. While the move brings him to the other side of the world, he is excited to take on the challenge and looks forward to assisting customers with technical enquiries and supporting warranty claims.
Wasantha Perera – Technical Product Support & Development (DEUTZ Energy)

Wasantha (Wasa) joined DEUTZ Australia in early 2021 and brings extensive experience across electrical, mechanical, gas, and energy sectors. His background as a Service Engineer, Production Engineer, and Production Manager provides him with broad technical insight across multiple industries.
A key part of Wasa’s role is identifying opportunities to expand and strengthen the DEUTZ Australia product offering. He is responsible for researching and introducing new products from Germany and the USA to meet local market needs. He has also contributed to the development of DEUTZ Power Packs for the TD 2.2 L3, TD 2.9 L4, TCD 3.6 L4, and TCD 7.8 L6 engines, as well as the introduction of the Controls Inc. product range in Australia.
Wasa’s expertise is particularly valuable for customers involved in energy and power solution projects. From supporting large-scale tender requirements to tailoring solutions for smaller domestic or site-specific applications, he provides end-to-end technical support across a wide range of power solutions.
With the expansion of the DEUTZ portfolio into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Wasa is also actively involved in designing small- to mid-scale microgrid solutions for construction sites, farms, and mining operations.
James Heys – Aftersales Technical Support/Trainer

Before joining DEUTZ Australia as Technical Product Support / Trainer, James spent 17 years completing his apprenticeship and working with DEUTZ dealer LK Diesel in Braeside, Victoria. During this time in field service, he travelled extensively across Australia diagnosing and repairing machinery powered by DEUTZ engines.
James manages a broad range of technical enquiries on a daily basis. Drawing on his hands-on experience as a field mechanic, he provides practical guidance to help dealers diagnose issues, troubleshoot efficiently, and restore equipment performance as quickly as possible.
In addition, James coordinates technical training workshops to ensure dealers remain up to date with the latest DEUTZ technologies and product developments. These sessions are designed to combine technical depth with a practical and engaging learning experience.
Nathan Stone – Sales Application Engineer (DEUTZ Engines)

A common requirement from our Engine Sales Team is the design of engine solutions for new or specialised applications. To support this growing need, we have introduced a dedicated Sales Application Engineer role, filled by Nathan Stone.
Prior to joining DEUTZ, Nathan worked as a Sustaining and New Product Introduction Engineer for SitOnIt Furniture in Los Angeles. He also brings application engineering experience from his previous role with Cummins APAC in Scoresby.
Nathan’s expertise in engine systems and application engineering enables him to support a wide range of technical requirements, whether you’re defining a new engine scope to replace and existing unit or developing a solution for a specialised project application.
Greg Auguszczak – Technical Support (Daimler)

Greg Auguszczak joined the Wacol branch to support the Technical Support Team, with a focus on Daimler products, which DEUTZ Australia is now responsible for distributing across Australia and New Zealand. He brings extensive hands-on experience in commercial workshop environments, supporting diesel engine diagnostics, servicing, and repair across heavy-duty applications.
Greg has previously held roles as a Senior Diesel Technician with Daimler Trucks, as well as a Diesel Fitter and Leading Hand with MTU Detroit Diesel. He is also a Gold Level trained Isuzu IUA technician. His background provides strong technical capability across both workshop operations and field support environments.
