Dylan offers a helping hand

Dylan McCabe loves helping people. At work, the DEUTZ Australia Spare Parts Assistant is a diligent and popular employee who keeps his clients happy.

At home, he loves spending time with his children and helping friends. Each year he completes the MS Walk + Fun Run each year for a friend who has multiple sclerosis.

Most weekends see Dylan, his partner, Vicki, and sons Evan, 4, and Noah, 2, walking, bike riding, visiting museums, attending sporting events and eating out.

“There is never a dull moment when the kids are involved as they are full of life with plenty of energy to burn, which provides plenty of fun times and memorable moments,” Dylan says.

Dylan helps DEUTZ customers with information and ordering spare parts. He mainly works with dealers, but also assists OEMs daily. “I assist them with spare parts information such as pricing, availability and basic technical information,” he says.

Dylan enjoys the variety of his job. “I love the interaction with my colleagues and our customers and the satisfaction that you have provided a service to the best of your abilities,” he says.

A typical day sees Dylan correspond with customers by phone or email to ensure that everything is attended to and their experience is smooth and pleasant.

Dylan, who completed a diesel mechanic apprenticeship at 21 and has a Certificate III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, has also worked in automotive spare parts and as a truck and bus upfitter. He even tried his hand in real estate.

After 18 months with DEUTZ, Dylan remains as keen as he was on day one. “It is a pleasant work environment to be in, which is due to it being a close-knit team where everyone is willing to help each other out when needed to get the job done,” he says.
